About this course

Most people who end up in a corruption case did not set out to be corrupt. They paid a small 'facilitation' to get goods out of the port, accepted a hamper from a bidder, or let a cousin's company quote for a job without telling anyone. By the time they saw the problem, their name was already on the paperwork.

This course is for everyone at work, in companies and in public service, and especially for people in procurement, sales, finance, licensing, regulatory and frontline roles, where the offers and demands actually land. It explains in plain language what bribery and corruption are, including facilitation payments, kickbacks, extortion and trading in influence, and what they cost Ghana, your organisation and you personally.

You will learn how Ghana's framework fits together: the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), the Office of the Special Prosecutor, CHRAJ, EOCO and the Whistleblower Act, 2006 (Act 720). If you work for or with a multinational, you will see why the UK Bribery Act and the US FCPA can reach a transaction in Tema or Tamale, and what ISO 37001 asks of an organisation.

The course is built around real situations: a customs officer who wants 'something small', an envelope found in a tender file, and a relative whose company wants to supply your office. You practise the decision, see the consequences, and leave with scripts for refusing, a checklist for vetting agents, a gifts test, and a clear picture of how to record and report a concern safely.

You finish with a personal action plan and a final assessment. The pass mark is 80%, which is normal for compliance training.
