About this course
Your phone goes everywhere with you, and so does your job. A two-line rant on Facebook after a bad day, a screenshot of a memo dropped into a family WhatsApp group, a reply-all email typed in anger: each takes ten seconds, and any of them can cost you your job or your organisation's reputation. Most of the people who get into trouble online are decent staff who simply did not stop to think.
This course is for all staff, in companies, NGOs and public institutions. It explains in plain language what you can and cannot post about work, how confidentiality applies to WhatsApp and Facebook as much as to paper files, and who is allowed to speak for the organisation. You will look at professional conduct in work WhatsApp groups, email tone, respectful debate, misinformation, copyright, privacy settings and your digital footprint. Public servants will see what political neutrality means for their online life.
The course is built on situations you will recognise: a frustrated employee's Facebook post that gets shared 400 times, an internal memo that leaks from a WhatsApp group, a customer complaint that trends overnight, a forwarded voice note that turns out to be false. You make the decisions and see where they lead.
You will also learn, in general terms, how Ghanaian laws such as the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038) and the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) apply to what people post and share.
You finish with a personal digital conduct plan and a final assessment. The pass mark is 80%, which is normal for compliance training.
