Your First Sale in 30 Days
Turn a tested idea into paying customers within 30 days: build a small offer, price it above cost, sell to people you know, take mobile money safely and record every sale.
What you'll learn
- Explain why a first sale teaches you more than a logo, a certificate or a business plan
- Build a minimum offer: the smallest version of your idea that someone will pay for
- Price your first offer above cost using cost-plus and what similar things sell for
- Follow a four-week launch plan with a clear selling target for each week
- Write a clear offer message for WhatsApp status and groups
- Handle common objections and credit requests from friends and family without damaging the relationship
- Take mobile money safely, spot common MoMo scams and record every sale from day one
- Diagnose a week with no sales and decide whether to change the offer, the price, the audience or your effort

About this course
You have an idea, and you have tested it. People said they liked it. Now comes the harder question: will anybody pay? This course is Stage 3 (Start) of the Youth Enterprise LaunchPad, and it has one job. It gets you from a tested idea to your first paying customers within 30 days, using the money and the phone you already have.
It is written for young people in Ghana who are starting with little or no capital: students, national service personnel, apprentices, recent graduates and anyone running a small hustle from a hostel room or a family compound. You do not need a logo, a registered business or a business plan to begin. You need something small that a real person will pay for, a price that covers your costs, and the confidence to ask.
Across five short modules you will build your minimum offer, price it in cedis, follow a four-week launch plan, write a clear WhatsApp offer message, handle 'I will get back to you' and 'reduce it for me', take mobile money safely, deal with friends who want credit, and work out what to change if nobody buys in the first week. Every lesson is short enough to read on a phone in one sitting.
The course ends with an evidence task: proof of your first sales and a simple sales record for the month. Marketing strategy, bookkeeping and business planning come in later LaunchPad courses, so here we stay with selling.
