About this course

You have decided to try business. Good. Now comes the question that stops most young people: what exactly should I sell, and to whom? This course is Stage 2 (Find) of the Youth Enterprise LaunchPad, and it answers that question with work you can do on your phone and on your feet.

It is written for young Ghanaians who have no business yet and very little money: students, national service personnel, recent graduates and school leavers. You do not need capital, a registered company or a laptop. You need a notebook, some airtime and the courage to ask people questions.

The method is simple. You start with problems people around you already spend money or effort on, in your hostel, your neighbourhood, your church or your service posting. You match those problems to what you already have: your skills, your tools and the people you know. You look honestly at the low-capital business types that work in Ghana, and you learn to recognise a scam dressed up as a 'business opportunity'. Then you test. You hold ten short customer conversations without leading questions, estimate demand, look at competitors, work out what is left from each sale in cedis and run one cheap test before you spend real money.

You finish with a chosen idea, a scoring grid that shows why you chose it and notes from ten real conversations. That evidence carries you into Stage 3, where you go after your first sale.

This course does not teach full business planning, marketing channels or bookkeeping. Other courses in the programme cover those.
