About this course
You have the certificate, or you soon will. Now comes the part nobody taught you in the lecture hall: finding the right job, getting through the door and doing well once you are inside. Many good graduates in Ghana send out dozens of CVs and hear nothing back. Others get the job and then stumble in the first three months because nobody explained how a workplace really works.
This course is for final-year students, national service personnel and fresh graduates who want a clear, honest plan. It is written like advice from an older brother or sister who has hired graduates, sat on interview panels and watched new staff sink or swim.
You will start with yourself: your strengths, your values and the kind of work that fits you. Then you will look at the Ghanaian job market as it really is, formal and informal, including national service, graduate trainee programmes and how to use contacts without cutting corners. You will rebuild your CV and cover letter so they pass computer screening and a tired recruiter's ten-second glance, and set up a LinkedIn profile that works for you.
The interview module covers competency questions, the STAR method, panel interviews, aptitude tests, assessment centres and the dreaded salary question. After that, you will learn what to do in your first 90 days: email, punctuality, dress, dealing with your boss and taking feedback without falling apart. We finish with money on your first salary, SSNIT basics, time management and a written career plan.
Every module has worked examples with Ghanaian names, places and cedi amounts, plus activities, scenarios and quizzes. You leave with a new CV, interview answers you have practised, and a 90-day plan you can download and use.
